How we design a CCTV system

Coverage first

We decide what each camera must show: a face at the door, a plate at the gate, or general activity in a hall. That decides lens and resolution.

Light and weather

Bangalore sites mix harsh afternoon glare with dark compounds at night. We pick WDR and IR or colour-night cameras per spot, with outdoor IP66 ratings.

Storage that matches your retention

We size the hard disks for the days of footage you need, including 30 days where the Karnataka law applies. Try our storage calculator.

Power and network

PoE switches, UPS backup for the recorder and switches, and cable runs within distance limits, so the system keeps recording through power cuts.

Questions we get asked

How many CCTV cameras does a home need?

Most 2 to 3 BHK homes need 4 to 8 cameras covering the gate, entrances, parking and common areas. The site survey fixes the exact number.

Can I watch the cameras on my phone?

Yes. Every system we install supports live view, playback and motion alerts on iOS and Android.

IP cameras or HD analog cameras?

IP cameras give better image quality, smarter alerts and simpler expansion over one network cable with PoE. HD analog can make sense when you are upgrading a site that already has coaxial cabling. We explain the trade-off in the quote.

How long is footage stored?

That depends on the number of cameras, resolution and hard disk size. We size storage for the retention you need, commonly 15 to 30 days, and 30 days where the Karnataka Public Safety Act applies.

Will CCTV keep recording during a power cut?

If the recorder, switches and cameras are on a UPS or inverter circuit, yes. We include backup in the design and tell you how long it will last.

Do you install AI cameras?

Yes, where they add value: person and vehicle detection to cut false alerts, line crossing at boundaries, and number plate recognition at gates.
